Christel Seeberger, OT, Founder & CEO, Sensory Friendly Solutions

Christel Seeberger has been an OT for more than 25 years, working with people across the age spectrum who struggle with sensory sensitivity and sensory overload. Christel’s professional work has positively impacted the lives of children, adults, and seniors, at home, work, school, within their community, and even at summer camps.

After building a successful multi-disciplinary practice, Christel found her talents, and personal challenges dealing with her own sensory sensitivities, were pulling her into a slightly different direction, where she could advocate for sensory change internationally. She founded Sensory Friendly Solutions in 2016, working to make our homes, our communities, and our world a more sensory-friendly place for all.

Sensory Challenges More Common Than You Thought

Data indicates that 33% of the population (children through seniors) have their lives affected by sensory sensitivity and sensory overload. While many have a sensory challenge related to a diagnosis, like autism, sensory processing disorder, learning disability, PTSD, low-vision, anxiety, hearing loss, concussion syndrome or a traumatic head injury, there are others who have a hidden disability which can make daily living a constant uncomfortable struggle.

With dozens of diagnoses and hidden sensitivities that make children and adults prone to sensory sensitivity and sensory overload, the world often feels too busy, too noisy, too bright, too painful, and overwhelming just trying to “go about a normal day.”
